Interview with Guest Michelle Wetzel: The Murder of Katherine Renee Goode

Interview with Guest Michelle Wetzel: The Murder of Katherine Renee Goode

October 24, 2021

In this episode, I interview Michelle Wetzel. Her family suffered a tragic loss when in January of 1994, her 2-year old sister Renee Goode was suffocated by a monster, Shane Goode, while at a sleepover at his family home. I cover Renee Goode's case in great detail in Episode 27, so if you haven't listened to that yet, make sure you listen to it before listening to this episode.

Michelle talks with me about the challenges her family has had to overcome, the growth they've experienced, as well as a lesson to all of us on how to overcome such hardships.

Resource shared by Michelle: The Prosecutors: Infant Mortality (features interviews with her mother, Annette and her grandmother, Sharon Couch)

I hope you enjoyed this episode, and I will be back in two weeks with a brand new case. Thanks for listening and stay safe.

The case of Peter Fabiano is a case of love, passion, jealousy, and revenge (?) and the second one, the case of Martha Moxley, is a case of a wealth, power, influence from relatives to the Kennedy's to a girl just wanting to enjoy Mischief Night during the Halloween celebrations.

MISSING: Heather Teague

September 26, 2021

Heather Teague went missing on August 26, 1995 when she was dragged off the beach while sunbathing next to the Ohio River in Henderson County, Kentucky. This entire event was amazingly witnessed by a man across the river using a telescope! Heather has not been heard from or seen since, and her mother is desperately searching for her to this day to bring her home.

If you or anyone you know has information regarding the abduction of Heather Teague please contact:

  • Kentucky State Police at 270-826-3312

James Holmes: The Aurora Movie Theater Mass Shooting

James Holmes: The Aurora Movie Theater Mass Shooting

September 12, 2021

The case of James Eagan Holmes, the mass shooter who took the lives of 13 individuals and injured over 70 people is a tough one. I include multiple disclaimers and trigger warnings throughout.

The book, A Dark Night in Aurora: Inside James Holmes and the Colorado Mass Shootings. by William H. Reid, MD, MPH was very influential in my research

The Murder of Katherine Renee Goode

The Murder of Katherine Renee Goode

August 29, 2021

I am sharing the Texas case of Renee Goode today, and this case took a piece of my heart with it as I was researching. Sharon Couch and Renee's mother, Annette, never gave up, and fought tooth and nail to get Renee the justice she deserved. RIP to beautiful, angel, 2-year-old Renee and fly high.

(Note: This is technically a Patreon bonus episode, but the domestic violence message/warning is so strong, and SO important, that I had to share it with all the listeners. I am giving it to the Patreons a week early before I release it on the public feed.)

Sources:

I call out this book countless times in the episode, but I was blown away by the depth of research and detail in the book, To The Last Breath, by the Edgar Award-Winning author Carlton Stowers. It was very influential for my research, and I highly recommend everyone go find and read this book.

I'm back with Part 2 and the conclusion of Ed Gein's horrible case. In this episode, we look inside Ed's disgusting, isolated farmhouse and find unspeakable things. Hold onto your butts, folks.

Shout out to the book that I quote multiple times and highly recommend, "Deviant: The Shocking True Story of Ed Gein, "The Origional Psycho!" by Harold Schecter.

The Case of Ed Gein: Part 1

The Case of Ed Gein: Part 1

August 14, 2021

We are diving into the case of Wisconsin man, Ed Gein, and I am here for it. I include plenty of disclaimers, but this is one of the biggest cases in the nation for. a. reason. Make sure you're ready to dive in, it gets pretty disgusting.

I shout out this book on the podcast, but I couldn't have done this case justice without the book Deviant: The Shocking True Story Of Ed Gein, "the Original Psycho by Harold Schechter. The book was amazing, and so helpful, and I am going to recommend it to everyone I know.
